its ok 90.....big threads are an eye sore....

Well... yeah? :rlaugh: I wasn't bashing or anything, just stating the obvious. You're workin with what you've got and maybe it's a little rough but you're doing great :nice:

didnt mean for it to come off like that...yeah...it will be nice in a couple of months...were taking the car down on friday becasue that the soonest he will be able to take a look at it for the top..he got backed up at the shop i decided i was going to do the interior first....

does it actually look that good in person? Pictures hide all the little flaws... Not saying there is any, cause it actually looks really good. But just wondering if its nice and thick and you can't see through the black paint. know what i mean? Cause you should almost like paint them first in a gray primer then paint them black(If you did do that don't flip cause i didn't bother reading through the first 2 pages on the thread) haha. Good job though man looks good!

nah when i take pictures it would show the flaws...i was using my moms cam..it looks better in person imo...i plan to take the car to some of the meets that stang bangerz has this year so when we go there ill have 85 look at it and see what he thinks.

but yeah i just did light coats and did plenty of them to cover.

Ya know i don't know why nobody has thought of this, but it just occurred to me that seat belts are woven nylon....and RIT dye will dye nylon just like it's fabric...so you can dye your belts black with that stuff and it should be totally permanent aside from possible sun fading, but you'll get that with anything. I know they'll dye because in the RC car world people use RIT dye to dye their wheels different colors, and the wheels are nylon, so there's no reason you couldn't do the belts too.

You can thank me later :D

I used this stuff on my 71 stingray and it looked great went from green to black but one day i had some dye on my pants so i had to remove the belts ...and buy some oem black ones ...But it did work

pics of it in the sun with no flash

damn nice job man... black leather 2000+ seats and black carpet =

ive thought about it with about 100 other options....for the front seats i would be looking at 300 or so then to have my rear recovered to match would be another 200 so there 500+....that mustangs and more still has the 91 coupe with black interior...maybe ill see if i can snag the seats from that...they were mint.

i thought about some grey tweed seats with black carpet to add contrast...that way i could do a insert on the door panels.

im gonna start looking for a 140MPH cluster around hilliard that i can buy..i want to do white face gauges...ive always been a fan of them.

Im sorry if Im butting in on your thread, but I really would like to do the same to my 86. I have the good ol' porno red interior with a nice silver exterior. I want to go with black and I was wondering what I exactly need to get in order to start doing this task. thanks!
