Just to relate, I will share my experience too. I noticed mine (efi) had HUGE ports compared to the old PP. IIRC, you already have 205cc heads on that and that intake is prolly really gonna wake it up man. I dont see u losing much low end ,we already have too much.

If I keep my car, I may eventually go with a spider or something considering I am revving higher with the 3.90's. It revvs so fast now, I barely have time to shift it! Rick says mine will spin to 7k NP. Of course cam is also part of it. The cam I have now gives me more low end than the other one I had but still should spin pretty good to like 6500 I think. But I stop pumping out power @52-5500RPM IIRC. I am making roughy..450rwhp now street tune. I say roughly bc I was making 421rwhp on a dynojet and Rick with RNH Performance got me another 50rwhp from that baseline on a mustang dyno. Let us know what you get.

Also, I remember changing from a street to a track Heat intake on the 306 and it kept the power low and revved much higher. Felt like a 32 valve!! I hope u get the same result.

no, no decisions yet, but i'm still thinking that a 3848 is what will work for me

i did also grab a super victor off ebay that came with rails and an elbow. that should be here before long.

nate, i think the_mustang wants my typhoon. if he decides it is not for him, i'll let you know

I just used the 3848 on a turbo car and since it hangs lower it has valve cover clearance issues, my fix was to add a carb style spacer between it and the intake. I millled the spacer down to the size I needed since it was not available. now my throttle linkage just clears the tall valve covers

I prefer the 3849 elbow but the intake pipe will hit the crease of the cowl on a 4" Cervinini hood, it needs to be about 1" lower to make it work. Wilson makes some nice elbows with different angle options, I had also thought about angle milling my spacer to point the intake pipe down to get it away from the hood...

Aarons pieces in the link above are also very nice, Bennt Racing made a billet elbow that was low profile but very pricey

suppose you had stock height valve covers....would it clear then? also, is that with a junior victor?

:bump:

Any updates Chris? I'm thinking about going to a carb style EFI intake myself, since it's far easier to work on when you don't have to yank the upper plenum, to work on anything beneath it.

no, sorry. it has been a very busy summer what with selling our house and buying another one. i have both a victor and a victor junior (both efi conversions) and a elbow. but i have done nothing with them yet. this fall has some promise.
