My father asked me if I want to split a payment with him on a truck. He only goes out two times a month so I would be the primary user. He wants a Lincoln Blackwood, looks like a nice truck and has a 5.4 DOHC so I bet its fairly quick. My half of the payment would be $200 ($400 total w/insurance divided by two). I know he is doing it more for me than him because he is always saying to get something else so I can save the Cobra and start fixing it up. So does anyone have one, or know anything about one. Is $18000 too much for this one he wants?

I'd normally say no, but to me it'd be worth $200 month to not have to drive the stang daily and be able to have it in pieces for a build

I agree. The truck is too nice to be a truck IMO (carpeted bed and what not). But for 2 bills ... can't beat that.

The interior is nice, i just dont care for the rest of the truck...Why not just get an F150?? On the other hand, u cant beat that for $200 a month & u can keep the stang from being daily abused....

My friend had a Blackwood and he had to bring it to the dealer about 5 different times for various repairs and he had nothing but bad things to say about that truck lol... So he bought a '06 F-150 instead and loves it. Maybe it was a dud, but he had a lot of issues with the a/c, heater controls, etc.

I rode in the Blackwood and the interior is aight... kinda like a more luxurious F150, and the exterior is like a Navigator, but i didn't care for the body style of the truck really. If it were me, i'd put that $200/mo towards a Lightning or newer F150. The newer F150s are pretty sweet trucks...

Not a bad looking truck, but certainly looks dated at this point in time IMO. Also, if I remember right, it take premium fuel as well b/c of the 4v. If you aren't paying for the gas then it would be worth it, but if you are that $200 a month will just be where it starts in terms of costs of owning that truck. I'd get a newer F-150 with a 3v and be done with it....

I love those trucks! Reggie Wayne from the Indianapolis Colts has one (lives across the street from my dad) and it's all pimped out, has sweet rimz too yo.

Honestly pickup an F150 for the cheap.

Im trying to understand what that exotic bed was designed to carry.
You could get more stuff in the back of an Explorer.

I would prefer a Lightning or newer F series but he really likes the Blackwood (he is 55) and only has mabey four years left to live so I would rather get something he really loves. Besides he is gonna get a 87-93 Notch as well, wants to spend about 8 grand on one so I am sure I can find him a real sweet one for that amount.

Just want him to be happy.

Im thinking golf clubs and groceries.

Honestly i dont see the point in getting a truck like that because all the utility of a truck is taken out of it. You may as well just get a navigator and have more interior space and utility.

Sorry, don't like the looks and just because it's unique, it doesn't make it any cooler for me. How about a Merauder in the same black? Cobra engine, plenty of room, 18" chrome rims and the leather just like the bwood.

They are pretty much a navigator with a fancy bed and a power tonneau cover that rarely ever works. Parts for that vehicle are getting harder to come by also since ford discontinued it. I work on fords everyday and I would not recommend one. If anyone is to ever buy one, make sure you get the premium care extended warranty because you will be sorry if you don't.
