Bleeding ABS system...

Ok, When i bought my 2002 GT it had some probs. One of the first i noticed was the drivers side rear banjo bolt was almost all the way out. Fluid was leaking everywhere. I trailered her home, and tightened it up.

I bled the brakes and MC with a one man bleeder kit till there was all new fluid in the ssytem and no bubbles coming out anywhere. I changed the pads all the way around, the rotors appear to be in good shape.


Still the brakes suck horribly. I believe it's caused by air in the ABS module. I know you have to have an expensive scan tool to bleed it.

IS there any other way of doing it with out the scan tool? Like maybe jumping two wires together to trick the abs module into opening?

according to the website you have to use a scan tool. Which , I already knew. I was just hoping there was a "hack" or something, like a way to jumper two wires to activate the system. I was hoping to do this at home, but...



On the other hand i may have access to an NGS tool through a friends work (the power company) , They have all ford trucks and have their own mechanics to work on them, and the have an NGS.


Ford wants $85 to diagnose it and another $280 to bleed it with the NGS tool if they find it needs it...
