The tune

cubicgator said:
python maybe you should shut you ignorant F@@king mouth before you get yourself in trouble. for one ive never seen a rod break on a bad tune and for two maybe you should see how the owner of fast specialties can drive over his own crank on a new 347 that he built sounds like some quality crap, yes i witnesses it with my own eyes thanks. my tune was a safe one and was just to drive to the dyno. no jeff it wasn't what we thought about the piston on number 6 all pistons were fine its rod on number 1 or 2. for those who want to know about what he is talking about. i bought the car wrecked in peices and the motor low miles used, well after i put it all together i started it ran great, first time i cracked throttle a tick started then it started to miss. checked motor and found number 6 to be missing, i pulled plug and found end smashed.used boriscope at dealer found a bolt on head of number 6 piston. well we got it out and it ran fine i drove it for a month this summer n/a perfect. after i blew motor i pulled all plugs yes they looked dark and safe. i was involved insetting chip for base tune so you insulted me also python. just caused some can buy a dyno doesn't mean they know how to use it, and just because someone grew up around fords and a ford shop sure doesn't mean they know anything about latemodel vehicles or how to tune them.

I never said I knew it was a bad tune! I said it sounds like it could be a bad tune.

And I never said I knew the whole story I was not trying to pass anybody off and I'm sorry if I did that was not my intent and no I don't know who did the tune. I was just trying to be helpful and say I knew of a shop in town with an on-site Dyno that might be able to help others with the same type of setup. And as for being ignorant I am not have worked for Louis Unser on the night which crew, Hampton blowers which for years made all the top ends for sherly muldowny and Bigfoot I've been around forced induction for a long time. Once again I'm sorry if I made you angry that was not my intent

Just to clarify (for the record)...that motor was assembled by Archie Somers of Somers Machine. The crank was "magged" prior to install, but showed no signs of any problem. It was an unfortunate, unforseen and costly break, but that's racing. Sometimes we have a bad season, but hopefully this coming year will be better.
