Blood Under Fingernail..Advice?

i blocked a shot in hockey last year that hit the toe of my skate, it blew the toenail on my big toe almost completely off. The pressure that built up was crazy so they took out this tinny poker thing thatgets red hot and burned a hole in my toe nail, blood squirted a couple feet, but it felt like new...except for the fact my toenail fell off a day later.

wait till u get a wood sliver under your fingernail..a really deep one, those suck to get out..and why a pic?? i can get one but here;s my explaination anyway, a fingernail, red and with a littlr brown hole in the center..lol and my house does smell like burnt hair(i didnt know what burnt fingernail smelled like till today)..i'll get a pic right quick for ya..

leave it alone, after like 3 days you wont even feel it. I kicked a tire on accident a few weeks ago, my toe swelled up bad and was FULL of blood. I just put some neosporin on it and a bandaid, did hurt after like 2 or 3 days, and the blood came out by itself a few days after that, then the nail fell off. Just leave it.

A boy at shop class in school had the same problem, but it was drilled out. I didn't actually see it but a few people went to help him, it was pretty bloody, and the nails gonna fall off in the next week probably.

sonner then that.

Thanks for the pix!

Dropped a 30-pound, steel shelf on my big toe once. 2 days later, I could hardly walk because of the pain. Went to the clinic and the doc broke out the hot, cautery needle. I didn't notice the huge, male nurse sneaking up behind me until he grabbed me by the shoulders. Before I could say, "What the hell?!", the doc plunged the red-hot needle through my nail. WOW!! My @ss muscles alone tried to launch me off the exam table. Luckily the nurse had a good hold on me.

The blood fountained out of the hole and made a nice hissing sound. The needle REALLY hurt, but only very briefly. After that, my toe felt sooooooo much better.

I lost half the nail, then had to deal with an in-grown toenail for about the next 18 months.

Since your in school I can't say just drink a gallon of Vodka, then do the lighter + needle trick.

When I was younger I locked my self out of my truck. Grabbed a metal hanger to open the door, but in the process of bending the hook to open the door, the metal wire got jamed in between my tumb nail and thumb.

Nail fell off 2 days later... Dad let me do a shot or two so he could stab me with the needle.

I slammed my fingers in my car door before. My middle finger had blood under the nail. I drilled a hole in it with a pretty decent sized drill bit then poked it with a steak knife. I ran it under water and all the dried blood cam out. My nail diddnt fall off till the very end but it did grow back with a lump in it.

All this talk of copious and gratiuous gore, but only one single, blurry picture of carnage to show for it? C'mon ... y'all can post pictures of Hot Wheels and broken desk chairs, but nobody wants to pony up the nasty Purple Nail Pictures?

Better yet, how about some video of someone performing one of those hot-needle/paperclip or drill pressure-relief procedures? I wanna see blood spurting and hear screams of agony! C'mon ... it's friggin' HALLOWEEN coming up here, guys! 'Tis the season for HORROR! :D

FWIW, a Dremel with a nice bit would probably be more efficient for the drilling method... :)

I've tried the hot needle and it works but you probably will poke your nail bed and that hurts like a mofo. Get a tiny demel drill bit and use that...works every time, just go untill you see blood and stop, then squeeze your fender and it'll come out. They make Dremel bits down to like 1/32 of an inch so that should be plenty small enough.

fender??

Anyway, I stubbed my toe real bad 2 weeks ago, to the point where it hurt to press the clutch. It got full of blood, but I didn't do anything with it and it didn't fall off. I have a pic, lemme get it.

am i the only one that smashes the crap out of his fingers, gets the blood blisters under it.. and then they just.. heal up? mine make a damn scab under the nail.. and the nail slowly pushes the scab out once its healed.. i guess im just weird
