Blow 460 Super Cobra Jet

Is this still going to be your first car? I think you should just bolt a blower or turbo kit onto a 302. More than enough power.

no its not...this is also not going to be a dd. Its going to be basically redone from the ground up. I also considered a turbo dart based 347 but i wanted something different with more potential :D

........ if i would've stayed 302, i would have definitely went with a 347 stroker with some kind of boost, you'd be making just as much power as a N/A 460. Even if you went with the 460, you'd have to spend more money to get a nice T-56 and bellhousing adapter with really good internals to hold up, otherwise you'd have to go with a built C4 or C6 like me. And having only 3 gears isn't that fun, if i get on the freeway i am at 4500 rpms constantly at around 70mph also because of my 3.73s. Like i said before, you can go find a 460 block at the junkyard and build it up with exactly what you want. I started out with a 1968 block and heads and made it into a very nice streetable hot rod for around $6000 and it took me 3 months to get it all in the car.

Theres only 2 things i really hate about my big block fox, all the damn tire rubber on my rear quarters :) and people always asking me, how the hell did you fit that monster in there.

Good luck whatever you decide. Later.............

Good for you :nice:

So you decided then?

Whats your idea on the turbo 347,how you gonna build it?

Yes I think I have decided...since this will be my first build up I figured it would be better to stay chaeper (well...a little  ) and to deal with something im more familiar with.

Here is basically what my setup will be:

Dart based 347 with 5.4 stroke
Afr 185s or 205s
Custom cam
Eddy intake
Hellion Power Systems Turbo kit upgraded to a T76
All of this **** is going in a notch
BBK lts
dr gas o/r X
idk what cat
not sure about tranny either...6spd or auto?

but that is basically the meat of my setup.... of course I will be redoign the rearend and suspension 2...probably an eaton posi and 31spline mosers...at the moment im thinking 18" saleens with big ass brembo's but I might go with Prostars and minitubs if I think I will have traction issues... I will be looking for at least 700 to the wheels... :D I will find a way for it to work
