Blown 4.6!!!

Yes it was scary. Should've been there when it blew.

Anyway, when I talked to Tim (T&J) he said that a new cam (don't know which one), lower compression pistons, and maybe 10-12 psi should do the trick.

All I want is 450hp at the wheel. Anymore, then I'll probably have to change transmission.

Hew Screwed2V, why do you say that I should stay with stock heads? Just wondering what your thoughts were. Mine was the same, but did you see what the TEA ported heads did? It made 400 at the wheel without the KB.

Let me rephrase. If you get ported heads don't go too far. I have race ported heads on my car from a previous centrifugal combo and we put the 1.7 on the car with the 2 3/8" pulley and it just can't supply the motor with the air it wants. We're only getting 9 psi out of it instead of the 14 psi the pulley is designed to make. The little blower just runs out of steam. Now, a 2.2 on a car with heads like mine would be wicked but I didn't want to wait 'til 2010 on it to come out. :notnice:

WOW!!! I don't know how I missed this thread! I guess I was away from my computer while at Chicago. Anyway, I'm back home and I'm very sorry for what happen to you motor. That is a scary story! I just oredered the 10 psi pulley on Friday...and after reading your thread I'm seriously re-considering installing the 10 psi pulley.
