Ok guys, I just picked a 97 Cobra yesterday:
97 Cobra Black/Black(newly aquired)
Procharger P600B,90MM MAF, 30LBs, Dynospeed tune,
Pro 50 shifter, 410s, Dr gas, 2 Chamber flows
D&D tubular K and A arms, Steeda LCAs, FRPP uppers
M/M camber plates
420/435 at the wheels
. I have noticed a few little things that I want to find more about.
As the car decelerates to a stop, the idle will hang @12-1500RPMs for 5-10 seconds, not all the time but it has done it a few times. I am hoping that this is just the Procharger holding up the revs or something. I couldnt find any vacuum leaks so this is my next guess. Any suggestions?
When I am really in it, it will take off HARD then feel like theres no blower for a split second, then pull hard again, then feel like the blower is off, then hard,etc, etc. Someone mentioned belt slippage. I thought these engines had belt tensioners to keep the belt tight or does this change altogether with the blower? I know it is not detonation, misfire, etc because the car was just tuned by a very capable shop and A/F was right where it needed to be. Does slippage sound like the culprit?
I have noticed that the car seems to stay between the M and the A in NORMAL on the temp guage. Is this normal? I have never owned a supercharged car before but I know when I get out, the car is WARM and the engine too. Possible cooling system problem? Also, it seems to rise quicker with the AC on.
Anyway, sorry for the long post but if anyone can shed some light ont his for me, it would be great. I would really love to enjoy my Cobra without constant paranoia that something is wrong. Thanks
