Yep, they were shipped and on their way - got them overnighted and they were only 398.00. (Ceramic)

As far as the chip goes - it will only be in there for a month or so and then I'm getting Dyno Tuned.

Edit: I have an Automatic and I cannot get a speedcal - will the Dyno Tune also make up for my 3.90 gears making the speedo correct? Thanks guys.

Are they in the mail? Everytime I hear someone asking for an update on them, they wind up being pushed back another 3 months, or "still on backorder."

And as for the tune, forget chips. A chip can't adapt like the computer can. When you use a chip for your tune, it basically hijacks the computer and runs what it's programmed to run, not learning and adapting as much as the computer can. For peace of mind, I would much rather run it off of the computer.

Naturally aspirated, I guess a chip would be fine, since there's not at much at stake. With boost and a stock bottom end, I would want every safety net I could get.

Plus, with a chip you can't correctly communicate with the ECU (inspections, dealer work). So you would have to deactivate or unplug your chip, which also means going back to a stock tune on a blown car. I would be too scared to even turn the car on.

Pretty sure the SCT ones still do. Yeah, they still do the same basic thing.. but they still adjust to the readings of the sensors. So if the car senses colder air, it adjusts for it, if the oxygen sensors sense its too lean, it'll adjust so on an so forth. I'd personally rather have a reflash, but a flip chip is always nice to have, especially when your at the track
