I have a 87 GT. I blew my Horn/ Cigarette Lighter fuse a few days ago. So i checked out the horns, turns out one of my horns were bad. So i dis connected the horns and drove like that for a few days. ( During that time the horns were not connected i used my cigarette lighter for my radar detector. ) Today i went and bought a dual horn, mounted them and hooked them up everything worked, looked promising. Drove to the local murrys to get some carb cleaner for the weed wacker, when i got back in the car i plugged my radar detector in and i saw a spark from the outlet to the plug. Blown fuse again... No horn once again... Got home ( really ticked off because ive went through like 10 20 amp fuses ) I put another 20 amp in and tryed the horn, it worked, pluged in my radar... there went the fuse. I decided to try one last thing. I disconnected the new horns and put another 20 amp fuse in, i was getting ready to plug in my radar when i saw the fuse blow. The horn was disconnected... and nothing was in the cigarette lighter.... Whats the deal? Anyone have any clue whats going on here?

You have a short somewhere, probably in the wiring by the cigrette lighter. Pull the top off of the console and check the wiring under there.

You should be able to disconnect one of your horns at a time to find which is bad. I have heard the change in the lighter problem before so don't feel to bad. The lighter doesn't even work in my GT or my 4 banger, but both have working horns.
