Just wondering what they are. I haven't seen water in the oil, or oil in the water. Buddy said when his H/G popped, the boost gage went nuts, haven't seen that either. Seen some steam from the tailpipes, only in the morning, cool mornings. It's been sitting all week, pulled the plugs tonight, didn't see any rust or oil on em. Still gotta do a comp. test but gotta get the tools for that. Anyway it's been running like a champ, so I'm swayed from the head gasekts being blown, but it's been running hot, post S/C install, 240 by the autometer. So far I've flushed/refilled, swapped gages. added a fluidyne, put a switch on the fan. Pulled the W/P off tonight, hping to find the impellor sheared, no such luck. Again, what are symptoms of a blown head gasket?
Thanks, later

Symptoms are oil in water, water in oil, water or oil in combustion chambers & exhaust, leaking compression.

Do a leak down test. Do a coolant pressure test. That should tell you.

Your upper radiator hose should become real pressurized while the engine is running. Depending on where you blow the HG determines if there's oil in the coolant, or vice versa. Lemme see if I get this right:

Damn, I can't think for the life of me which is which. :( sorry. but your oil will look real milky if that helps. The steam coming from your tailpipes in the mornings is just condensation, nothing to worry about there. :nice:

Do You Have Any Type Of Computer Chip Or Hand Held Programmer? If You Do, Then You Might Have Other Problems. However, The Computers In The 94-95 Cars Are A Pain In The Ass. My Car Would Always Run Hot With Just Simple Bolt Ons. I Tried Everything...all New Hoses, Radiator, Waterpump, Fan, And Nothing Worked. I Also Thought It Was A H/g But It Would Always Run Fine In The Evenings Or Early Mornings. Finally I Got An A9l Computer Conversion With Manual Fan Switch And It Never Ran Cooler. Picke Dup A Few Tenths In The Quarter On The Motor And Almost A Full Second On The Unit. If You Want One Let Me Know...as You Can See From My Signature I Have One For Sale!

Blue smoke out the exhaust on cold starts, especially on colder mornings and after sitting longer periods, usually means valve seals....are you sure it is white and not blue smoke? Just a thought

Thanks for the replys. Thinking out loud...if the lower wasn't sealed to the heads properly, could that cause o'heating? anyone ever experience that? I'm guessing air could get into the coolant, remember I got a Kenne Bell on there. I'm torn, I could have the heads off in about 2/3hours, but it's alot of work that I don't feel like doing, especially since I'm not 100% sure on a HG being popped. Anyone else feel free to jump in......
thanks
no blue smoke, only some steam on cooler mornings
no chips or other stuff like that either

Just do a leakdown test, and you will know for sure. We will just be guessing until you do.

A bad seal at the lower intake will cause coolant in oil, vacuum leaks, etc.

I had a similar problem, I didn't have coolant in the oil or anything like that. I didn't have any loss of power, what I did have was pressure in the cooling system.
My car wasn't overheating or anything, I just waited alittle while, and I started smoking white badly then I new. good luck.
