O.K. so I beleive I may have a blown head gasket. For about a week now or so my coolant has been overflowing on me and sometimes its fine and sometimes its not. The car will heat up real quick and if I drive it it will shoot up to 210 -220 or so and then I pull off the radiator cap let it overflow and fill it up watch it suck back down fill it again and my temperature goes back down to 140-180 and I have heat and everythings all good until I leave the car cool back down and then its the same episode again. I ran the car at the track this past Saturday and the car did its normal thing in the morning and then I went to the track for the day and made 5 passes on a 100 shot and then I ran it on motor the rest of the day running 12's w/out any issues. I park the car for the night and go to drive it yestarday and its banging out in the top end and missing. I noticed it that the backfiring is primarily from 3rd gear on up at the top end(4500 and on.) So I park the car and today I stick my nose up to the radiator neck and it smells like gas. So what does this sound like to you guys. As far as the miss up at the top I pulled all my plugs and they are fine and my wires are good also along with new cap rotor and module. Not sure why my radiator smells like gas. I put these GT40P heads on about a month ago. They appeared to still have the factory finish on the surface of them. I need some help here guys. If it is blown gasket why did it do it and can I just put another one on and roll with it or do I need to get the block and heads checked?
Also I have no water in my tail pipes,no smoke, and no water in oil and as far as I can tell no oil in my water or antifreeze. The car still pulls super hard till you get up top in either 2nd gear on or 3rd gear and on.
