Yeah i had had jets and dallas tonight too.

The only year the colts won the SB is when they had to play through. One of these days i might do the research but I can't remember the last time a team laid down for a game or two and won the whole thing.

The last 1 seed to win the SB was the 2003 patriots and that team played to win in every game and won in week 17 31-0 over the bills.

This is friggin' great so far. Go Ravens!!! I hope Venom is enjoying the game.

No excuses. They got their ass beat. Brady looked terrible, and Ray Rice was invincible today. Waiting for the spygate comments to start cause NE hasn't won a playoff game since. . .

Arizona didn't deserve that game. Some key penilties were not called including 2 on one play where Zona ended up scoring. Now I kinda am pulling for Arizona cause it's Steelers and Pittsburgh West. I just am not a warner fan. Over rated

Patriots got dismantled on every level, even harder watching it happen right in front of me. The Ravens came to play the Patriots did not. I was listening to sports talk radio after the game and there were lots of comments made about how belichick needs to go out and find real football players again, guys who love the game. Seemed like a lot of guys were looking forward to a vacation and nothing else. The Linebacker core needs to be overhauled the only one there worth a damn is Mayo, Thomas needs to go. There were to many failures as a team to point to just one cause but the only bright spot was elderman and how well he has played. I dont get why they never once threw the deep ball to moss or anyone for that matter. You have to stretch the field and they didn't do that either. I think w/ some players the offensive coordinator needs to also go.

They have some off season work to do but it was nice to see brady come back this year and play as well as he did. At least the core of the team is still in tact. Either way the patriots close the decade as the most dominant team of the 2,000's

oh that's right b/c they have the exact same personal and the exact same players as when they were winning playoff games before. It has nothing to do w/ turn over and change in the team does it. I could be wrong though b/c the steelers didn't change a whole lot from last year to this year and look at how bad they sucked this year. From superbowl to not making the playoffs? Talk about a fluke superbowl win. I'll chalk then down with Tampa bay.

Why are you being a jerk? It's not the patriots fault that the steelers could not beat NFL powerhouses like the raiders, chiefs and browns to get into the playoffs. LOL you won the SB last year, just be happy no need to be a ass.

They lost because they played terrible and the ravens played better. This patriots team was troubled all year, I think belichick needs to do some retooling of this team. He tried to do that with the defense this season but it's obviously a work in progress.

Sure I would have liked to see them win but in reality they do not have enough to beat the chargers anyways.

Some of the problems this team had includes.

1. Matt Light is TERRIBLE, and he has been terrible for awhile I am sick of seeing him chasing people around the backfield. Thank god he is not going to be back. Put vollmer (sp?) on the left and they need to pick up somebody to play right tackle.

2. Tom Brady was playing hurt, you try to go out and throw the ball with three cracked ribs and a broken ring finger on your throwing hand. This team needed a perfect TB and he was not able to do it. Since they have no real talent at RB they live and die on the arm of TB..

3. Lack of a pass rush, did not effect them in this game much but all year this team had problems getting pressure.

4. The loss of welker, I think this team just folded after welker went down, since 2005 this team has had one disaster after another happen and I think it has gotten to them mentally

I have seen enough pats games over the years that I knew this game was over after the opening series on offense. In fact I called a woman I am seeing and went out to lunch after that. The restaurant had TV's in the booths but I kind of wish they did not.

Overall this season was the worse coaching job belichick has done for the pats, this team showed flashes of talent and a lot of quit. It can be fixed but I am not sure if they will be able too.

As you could see in the teams I picked in the AFC I was not feeling good about this pats team. In fact if I looked at this logically I would have picked the ravens in this game since around here we have a good idea of how bad brady is hurt and the loss of welker and how poorly this team has played at times. I let my homer in me pick pats over ravens

REALLY? they have not won a playoff game since spygate broke.. They won 2 playoff games in 2007 after spygate broke, plus they won 11 games in 08 with a backup qb that put up a fantastic rating in the 70's after leaving proving me right that he was not that good.

since you were 100 percent wrong about that do you really want to argue spygate? if so be my guest I will be more than happy to argue spygate. I think i still have all my old articles saved on a old harddrive how this stuff was going on back in the 80's and even the 70's. Please tell me you are not one of these know nothing asshats that think you really can breakdown tape at halftime and then magically use it in the second half of the same game. If you think the patriots invented videotaping from the sidelines or that the other teams were not doing it then you are a fool. Teams are STILL videotaping signals right now! 3 walls and a roof my friend and it's legal.

I have read the rule before it is really vague on the issue, If I was belichick I would cut the front off of a shed and put it on the sideline and videotape inside the shed. Only problem with that is the really unclear part about the field of play, does the sidelines count as the field of play.. In some rules it does such as this one and in others it don't. In fact the rule is so unclear that it would never survive in a court of law.

Don't you think it's a bit unfair that only the home teams get to videotape signals? This happens because the road teams are given video tape booths by the home team that are facing the wrong way.

While we are at it we can talk about the grassy knoll and the magic bullet and some aliens and some other overhyped media BS too

Sure some morons will always comment on spygate, just don't be one of them. I know your smart enough to know that it is impossible to use tape in the same game and teams are smart enough to change signals before the next game

Why the hell is two steeler fans giving me and redline a hard time? the pats did not play the steelers, and the last I checked the steelers are not in the playoffs. This would be like me harassing dolphins fans or colts fans last year when they lost?

I rest my case . I don't make excuses for the Steelers losing and write 12 paragraphs from the Quarterback down too the water boy on what their faults were. The Steelers lost and did'nt make the Playoffs. But when the all holy Patsy's lose then we can't talk trash at all. Then this thread is suddenly serious . I dealt with alot of Northeastern guys when I was in the military. They talk alot of smack, but when the table's are turned they suddenly can't take the heat. Nothing's changed in 25 years.

All I can say is the teams that I wanted to win, won......except for the jets beating Cinncy, I was hoping they would of got a little farther......Going to be some good games next week.....Here are my picks

Vikings over Cowgirls(least I hope so)
Saints over Cards

When did I talk **** about the steelers loosing??? I mentioned their failures against some weak teams because I find your comment and back in blacks annoying.. It's you and back in black that are acting like you just won the superbowl over some team your not a fan of getting beat by your chief rival.

If you want to have a serious football debate on what is wrong with the patriots or the steelers in 2009 then I will be glad to do so, but we can't have a serious football conversation about the patriots because you think everything is a excuse because all you are is a hater and that is sad. Brady was playing hurt for weeks, matt light does suck, the defense has been inconsistent and sometimes too conservative, loosing welker was huge and in the loss to the ravens they did not do a good job keeping pressure off of brady.

I think replacing light with vollmer on the left and getting a new right tackle would help, this would let them use the TE's more since they have had to use them a lot this year in pass protection. They need to get 2 wideouts now since welker might never come back. The defense is a bigger issue. Personally I think pees should be fired, His defense is too conservative in my opinion. Honestly I wish I knew how to fix this defense and make it more consistent but I don't

All of that is true? so what is the problem? I can't give my opinion? You want to call the brady thing or the welker thing a excuse. So what it's true they are hurt, but in my opinion even with a healthy brady and welker this team was not good enough and did not peak at the right time to win the SB

If you want we can talk about the 2009 steelers, I have done this with bluffing ( a mature steelers fan) I think loosing 43 for most of the year really hurt you guys, he is that important in your defense. They had a few other issues too but I think that was the biggest one. If they got 43 back and got into the playoffs I think they could have gone far and maybe won the whole thing.

I had the colts loosing in the divisional round too. I got the teams wrong, I thought they would be playing the jets, but now that the ravens are playing them I will go ravens over colts.

I totally didn't expect the Jets to beat the Bengals.

In fact I really hadn't known the Jets were in the playoffs

I quit the ranting and raving about the Steelers seasons back when I was a teenager. If they win great, if they lose then oh well. They did'nt make the Playoffs and did'nt deserve to either. End of story. Whatever they change before next year's season is what I'll have to accept. I just watch them play and hope for the best. The Patsy fans are the worst with their same drivel every year. They have the Superbowl sewn up before the season starts and Brady is the Allmighty. Oh no, please don't waste 2 paragraphs on Brady stats. The Steelers have won 2 Superbowls in the past 4 years. I've talked up nobody on those teams. They did what they did and I leave it at that. I've enjoyed these Playoff games this past weekend. The teams I needed to lose all lost. Excuse me while I drink my Hatorade.

Second off the Steelers SB last year was no Fluke. They have won two in four years. Two more than NE since their last one. Hardly a fluke. The reason they didn't make the cut is

1. The divison got better.
2. Key injuries. Troy and Smith on D and loosing two starters due to FA.
3. Special teams. I can't emphiosize this enough. Absolutley terrible. Messed up and took starters off of them.
4. The D in general.
5. Lost easy games to bad teams.
And finally. They just played bad. They were not a good team this year.

I'm not making any excuses for my team. They were terrible this year. They lost 5 games by three pts. But won lots of games by the same margin.

NE looks like a team that needs retooling. You got Brady, Welker and Moss still has some left. ANytime you have those three you're in contention. Relax NE fans.

I am not upset they lost yesterday.. SB42 yeah that got me upset. This one did not because this team was just not good enough to win anyways.

Why waste time talking about brady's stats. Everybody knows he is good and is proven. If you don't think he is good then fine who cares your wrong and nothing I can say will change that. You can lead a hater to the knowledge but you can't force him to learn.

Yeah I think he is one of the best all time, there is other very good qb's in the league too in fact quite a few right now including your own. For whatever reason brady did have a poor game yesterday. It happens to everybody.


BTW you should talk up your team. The steelers have had a good run too. I will admit I am disappointed and a little surprised this patriot team was not better but it is what it is and it's been obvious for quite a few weeks now that they were not that good this year, all you can do is try to fix the problems and move on.
