Do you know what are the tolerances on the gaps between fenders, doors, hood, etc. on 87-93 Mustangs? We're redoing a car's front end and we want to do a good job with the realignment of the sheet metal. BTW, the car's not crashed or anything, the old parts had rust! :nono:

Thanks guys!

my sisters 90 gt is bone stock never been in a wreck, the gap between the fender and the cowl panel is around a 1/16" , and in between the fender and the hood gap is around 1/4" give or take. should get you close to stock gap.

Thanks for the quick response, this is very useful! Do you know by chance the gap between the fenders and doors?

kinda depends on how you have the doors setup for the doorjambs, say where your door striker is. you usually want the same gap in both places so it looks halfway decent lol. then its all gravy from there. if the doors are still factory and havent been moved, measure the gap in between the door and pillar and set the fender to door clearance about the same:nice:

It's a challene to line up the front of a fox, even if it was never wrecked, so being that it was wrecked is even more challenging. I have put together a few of them. Factory parts are the best. I have used aftermarket fenders and covers, and they all fit like crap.

You will just have to use trial an error. Keep loosening bolts, adjust tightening etc...

TIP: Start with the hood and cowl gap first. Then work your way forward. If you get it square by the cowl, you will know what needs to go where at the bumper area.
