body question????

hey guys on my drivers side quarter panel near the wheel well i have a small section that has completely rusted through i was wondering if anybody knew how much body shops would charge to fix it or if maybe maaco could do it.I know maaco is cheap but i'm 17 and broke thanx

If its completly through ull have to replace it as the best bet, or if u can get to the back side of it, weld a small plate to it and then bondo the other side. Its a jurry rig fix, but complete holes are hard to fix as far as i know.

I don't know what a body shop would charge, but the proper way to fix it (short of replacing the entire panel) is to cut out the rust and weld in a new piece of metal like Silver said. you don't have to be able to get at the back of the panel though. After the patch is welded in then body filler is used to make it look normal again. Then paint has to be blended in to make it match the old paint. To do it right it won't be cheap sorry to say, unless you do most of the work yourself.
