Hi everyone,
hope someone can help me, I'm located internationally and Im considering the purchase of a 66GT convertible but it needs new fllor pans and rear quarters.

Can anyone recommend a Mustang body specialist for this sort of work in the LA area?

Cheers

I can't help you with any body shops but would give a word of caution. A 66 Mustang Covertible that needs new floor pans and quarters will almost certainly need new torque boxes and possibly frame rails, outer wheel wells, trunk, cowel vents, door skins and more. These cars came from the factory with absolutely no rust protection in these areas and 42 years of leaking causes more rust than it might first appear. Unless you are an experienced body man or have found an extremely rare car that warrants the expense you might want to look for one in better condition. I don't mean to preach but I would hate to see you get stuck spending more than you expect on repairs.

Thanks BluSteel I have some pictures of the underside and the floor pans an rear quarters seem to be the only places rust is evident. However as you suggest the problem could be far deeper and this is why I'd like to find a good body man in LA that can look the car over and give me an honest quote.

The car is a genuine 66GT convertible in black.

Anyone have any contacts on the west coast?
