Bogs and Stalls When Hawt!!!!

My bf has a 1996 Ford mustang GT v8 and when it's hot outside and the car warms up it will start bogging down like it's not getting any gas but we can turn it off for a few mins start it back up and it will be fine.. it only does it when it's hot outside.. and the funny thing is once it's dark outside and cools off it won't do it at all. The fans do and don't come on they have a brain of their own there is no water in the oil has new coil packs we recently put new injector on it.. does anyone know what this could be

It would be real handy to know what the PCM "thinks" are the values for:
  • Input air temperature (IAT)
  • Engine coolant temperature (ECT)
  • Air flow (MAF).
  • fuel pressure (will need an external gauge for this model year).
The usual easiest method is to use an ODB2 scanner that can read operational PID's. Here's some information on an affordable Windows based unit.

The other way to do this is to actually measure the voltage across the various sensors and look up the temperatures in the Ford service manual.

Since there's a possibility this is electrical, let's also get you started on a through battery and charging system review.

Howto perform charging system voltage drop test

Have you tested to confirm that the outside cooling fans work on BOTH speeds? Here's an area where an ODB2 scanner with bi-directional capabilities can make very short work of this question (one way or the other). Using the scanner to "command" the PCM to turn on the fans.
