Just wondering what vaccum line I splice into to install my autometer boost guage will anyone work or does it have to be a specific one. Also just curious how this guage actually tells you your boost if it is plumbed into a vaccum line.
You really want to get it on it's own line at the manifold, this will give you the most accurate reading. Keep it away from the MAP/BAP sensor and the Brake Booster, if you spline in splice into a line of a similar size.
The boost pressure pushes through the line against a sender in the gauge which makes it move
I have my mecanical boost gauge tapped into the vacuum tree. My PMS has its own dedicated port off the upper manifold. I get the same readings off of both of them. The PMS is more accurate though cause it shows me the boost to a tenth of a psi, which is nice.
