what would be the best supercharger (by the way this question is for a friend and he is dead set on a supercharger so no need to hear about turbos even though many times people say they work out better) that would put out the highest amount of boost that would be safe for a basically stock 95 gt 5.0L and a 98 gt 4.6L daily driver?(obviously looking for two answers here)

Dont put real high boost on the 95,,those hyper...., pistons will not last :notnice: Besides, the money your gonna spend on a blower, will get you a killer set of heads, new cam,and an intake :nice: You could be in the 11's if you do it rite :nice:

For superchargers, I would get a Kenne Bell. Or if you are attached to the idea of a centrifugal, I'd get a Vortech. Turbo, I'd probably say PTK. Turbo will be a lot more expensive than a Vortech blower, Kenne Bell will be about half way between Vortech and the turbo for cost.

As for how much boost you can run safely ... zero. I've seen motors break with 6 psi, and I've seen stock motors handle 18 psi without any trouble. It's all in the tune -- detonation will kill forged pistons every bit as fast as hypereutectic ones. And some motors are just weak, and any boost will kill 'em. At least a 302 is easier to rebuild than a 4.6L for the do-it-yourselfer.
