I have a 69 mach1. It originally had 351 I took that out and converted it into a 429 cobra jet with a c-6 instead of a c-4. The only headers that I could find where from crites restorations they make a custom set of headers. the engine takes up every inch of space in the engine compartment. I have power brakes and the back header on the drivers side sweeps under the brake booster and the booster can't go in straight there is about 3/4 of an inch between the bottom the booster and the fire wall it can't seat in all the way and I can't get a full brake pedal. Anyone have any ideas or should I just convert it to manual brakes. I can take a picture if anyone thinks that would help them think of something. If anyone else has made this convertion how did you get a full brake pedal.

Does it have a large booster like this:

or a small one like this:

If it is a large one then perhaps a call to some of the brake companies like SSBC or Master Power would turn up a small booster that works.

Short of that, the manual brakes might be your only option.

What does Crites say?

Its the small one. Crites has no idea. I think that I'm going with manual because my engine has a huge cam and doesn't make much vac. anyway.
Can I just put on a manual MC and it would work or is there a kit out there some where that I need so I can convert it.

If you go to manual you will want to get a manual brake pedal for leverage. No idea how well those dics will work without the booster though. My guess would be not too good. They were engineered to be boosted.
