Hi I restore a 1977 mustang II with a manual transmission What kind of fluid and how many quarts need this kind of transmission I didn't see nothing about that in the Haynes book

80w gear oil was the recommended fluid from the factory if I remember correctly, but finding single-weight gear oil these days can be a real challenge. 75w90 would be close enough not to hurt anything, and is readily available.

Do you have to worry about which spec or rating for the gear oil, like Gl-4 or GL-5? Some brass parts need specific oils. I do not know what manual transmission is in this generation.

The Rad-4. It pre-dates all of the current standards for gear oil.

Yes it is especially coming from Canada with all the salt on the roads.
