boring out intake and new throttle bodies

I was looking through and old issue of mustangs and fast fords and i saw and article about taking the stock intake and boring it out to allow better air flow then they added an aftermarket throttle body, they said you could use the stock one too if you wanted. I have two questions, 1) has anyone bored out their intake and howd it turn out? 2) i am probably getting a performance chip, and i know the chips are calibrated to the stock components and i heard if you change your throttle body size it wont really work right is this true anyone have any experience with this?

I ported my plenum (which ended up on my wife's 01)...very minimal gains. Their numbers were inflated, anyway.
Adding the Accufab plenum & TB was a much better idea...pulls better above 3K.

thanks i was beginning to think i wasnt gonna get any help on this, so basically it seems like a waste of time.
