boring white paint

Has anyone had racing stripes laid on their white mustang to break up the monotony of the boring white pallet. I was quoted 400 to have the car computer designed and then cut 2 dark blue stripes to run from front to back. They also do a tapered pin stripe on the side with mustang written in it. I saw a picture they had 0f a new 05 and it looked great with the blue. Just wondered if anyone had any experience with this????

my car is solid white, with the exception of bumper letters, mach 1 grille delete and chin spoiler.. I was actually thinking about adding some black to the back.. kinda making my car look like this in the rear, except i've got the steeda wing now..

I love that look.. tinted taillights, black honeycomb panel (altho it's not the same as this pic shows) in the back, lower valence between exhaust cutouts painted flat black (same as mach spoiler), and black letters..

I used these folks. Try to stay calm. There are plenty of designs that might tecnically turn your stang to a "rice burner from hell!!!"
But there are a lot of good designs.

Why bother paying hundreds of dollars for "custom" racing stripes, when you could just buy a bulk roll of the color you want vinyl, and cut it the way you want, and apply it yourself for less than $100?

For one thing, the cheap material you refer to will likely bubble and have problems if installed improperly, the custom graphics company warranties the work, they have a computer cut the pattern out perfectly with no weird edges, it takes hours to do the whole car which I dont have, I choose to pay a professional, and stay out of the graphics business. There are some do it yourself projects and some that just arent worth the headache. Plus, they are doing custom pin stripes with mustang actually cut out of the vinyl which the computer will stamp out. To me, 4-500 bucks is nothing, I just dropped $45,000 on the red porsche in my sig. Whats another $500!!!!!!!!!!

The material they use is superior to any vinyl you just buy.
I chose saphire blue for my white stang and I really like the combination.
This vinyl shines like it's painted on, when the car is washed.
The fit and detail in the patern are perfect and mine only cost about 170.00, as I remember.

well about 4 months ago...i was thinking the same thing as you. went to get a quote on the stripes....HELL NAW! so i went to my local signs/graphics place, and purchased a roll of 7year black vinyl (most stores like this will gaurantee the vinyl even if you do it your self) and went to work. took about 4 hours to get it done. all you need is a squeegy, soap, water, heat gun ($20 MAX), a razor, and some patience. my stang was my first time ever doing anything like this and it came out PERFECT. i even added red pinstripes to the outer edges of the stripes (only on the outer, no inner). i then did my buddies 2000 gt and it was even easier due to the fact that the body style is more clean cut and not so curvy on the bumper. do what you want, but it definitely is doable for a newb. look at my sig link.
