well,
i havent been on the site for awhile. now i am back! i bought a 04 cobra in august. the car is awesome. now trying to get up to date on all the info that is out there.
first off,i have a vibration around 45-60mph. then it goes away.the car is hard to start as well. not all the time though. i think it needs a reflash? anyone have any input? since it is so crappy out side i have to wait to take her into the dealer.
now i want a few mods. i am planning a pro 5.0 shifter and a exhaust. most likely a magnaflow. i have some questions regarding cai though. i am looking for a simple kit and wouldnt mind picking up a few ponies? i really dont know what kit to get. there are so many out there. then i am thinking a mass air flow meter. c&l 95mm? what do you think? i am trying to retain the warranty as well. then comes the throttle body question. i would like to have the accufab t-body. have people really picked up 20 horse on this? considering a bone stock car. well its getting long and thanks for any help!

Congrats on the snake. As far as the not starting thing, Mine did that when I first got it, but went away after about 1K miles. If yours continues to do it you may want to have it looked at. As far as mods go, the first you must do is intake and exhaust. Most of the CAI's will give you similiar gains. Steeda, KnN, JLT are all good one's. I am biased, but I think the Steeda looks the best. Exhaust there are so many to choose from. Magnaflow, Bassani, Borla, Mac, Flows, etc, etc, etc. All flow about the same and give great power gains. It really comes down to sound preference. I would not even bother with a bigger TB unless you pulley the s/c, not worth the cost, they are very expensive. Very minimal gains if any with a tb swap with the stock set-up. Same with the MAF. Not needed unles you are pegging the stock one and unless you mess with the blower that will not happen. I would suggest a good tune if you do the first mods. Either a dyno tune or hand held tuner. Diablosport Predator with a custom tune is a good one. Good luck and let us know about your mods.

dr.wu,
thanks for the advice about the tb! i dont plan on doing a pulley swap till she is half way or more out of warranty. even though the 2.5 pounder sounds temping! i was wondering about the predator. that is going to be a must have tuning tool!

bensba, i hear you on that. my car has 2,000 plus on it. will mostly likely take it in for the hard start problem though.the vib doesnt really bother me that much..as long as it isnt a bad tire etc...other then the few petty things this car rocks the house!

darkhorse, thanks bro i just wish i could drive her more often. 2 feet of snow sucks big time.

fordstang,i am from elyria. i go to qs&l(sheffield) on sunday nights for the car show...i have seen plenty of 03/04 snakes up there! i am also going to go to fun ford show this year...i really cant wait. i want to take this puppy down the strip!

thanks for the replies gents.............peace!

these things love a CAI, pulleys, exhaust, and a tune. For the intake I would go with steeda or k&n. Predator is the way most cobra owners go.
