So last night me and a friend decided that we wanted one. lol There were people waiting at the local best buy from 8pm last night for when the store opened this morning. They only got 10. There is no way in hell that I was waiting for one of these things. Fortunately my friend got a connection that Future Shop was getting 8 this morning and the public didnt know. They recieved 3 60GB and 5 50GB. Me and my friend got there at 845 and it opened at 10. We were the first ones there. Eventually they handed us slips and basically the first three people took the 60 GB model, myself included. Well some big shot at the end of the line offered me 50 bucks to trade spots. I was uninterested. Then he offered my 200, and I'll admit he got my attention. He was getting anxious as it came close to the opening time so I said what the hell, I told the guy he could have my spot for $300 cash. He called a buddy who brought him the money. So basically I ended up buying a 20GB PS3 (which I can upgrade easily) and an extra controller for $659.00 after tax. Minus the 300 cash I was given and I just picked up a brand new PS3 with two controllers for $350 after tax!!!! ahahhahahaha and to think of all those people that waited in line for days to fork out a grand. Deal of the year for me. lol

and my prices are in Canadian

You def did the right thing if you wanted to have one to play. Use this thread for your product review after you've had some time to play with it.

What kills me is that Nintendo's Wii is totally getting swept under the carpet compared to all the PS3 hype. The Wii's are selling for, like, HALF of most PS3's ... but then again, it's not as technologically advanced, apparently, and I don't think it's backwards-compatible with anything like the PS3 is, so there's hardly any games to play on it once you do get one. That, and the controller is just plain weird.

I always wait until all the initial bugs of a new system are worked out (usually takes, what, two or three new model numbers on average, it seems), and then I buy one as a new or refurbished one for $150 or less about a year later. In the meantime, I'll be happy playing with my PS2 ... y'know, that other system that so many people did the same thing with before, waiting in huge lines and paying insane amounts or overcharges just for the stupid "honor" of having one first. If someone were to hand me a PS3 right now, you can bet I'd be pimpin' that thing on eBay or someplace and making a chunk o' change - use that cash for more mods for the 'Stang.

Nice score for $350, nevertheless.

Actually the Wii is backwards compatible with the Gamecube, and they have already outsold the PS3. Congrats to you Dean, what game did you get?

Too bad PS3 sucks lol.

Supposed to be the worst playstation to date.

300$ more than xbox 360 for what? Same graphics, 360 has 100x better online and no problems, AND the DVD's and game loading times are much faster.....

Nevermind PS3's best game out right now, Resistance Fall of Man, was rated an 8.7 to Xbox 360's Gears of War's 9.8.

Well I am enjoying it so far. I havent bought any games yet so right now I just have rented a couple. I downloaded the Motorstorm demo online (with the PS3) and that game is awesome. I will buy it when it comes out.

I bet there was some sick people who paid 1-4k for a ps3 online, only to watch sony promise to make something like 150k units a week for the holiday season. So much for the ebay rush lol.

Actually before they were even out, people were bidding $2000 and up for ones that werent even delivered yet, then after they were in stores, they were going for $2000-$7000 lol. The Ebay rush has died down though it seems.

Oh yea and

3DO > PS3
