Before anyone says it, I will put it out there. Not another Cobra R wheel!!! I know all about it.

I have wanted new wheels in 18" x 9/10" with a lip for a while. The problem is that I can't find anything that I would be willing to spend a lot of money on. The HRE, CCW, etc. wheels are nice, but not exactly what I am looking for. I'm too picky. I can't see spending $$$ on wheels that I truly don't love. When I saw these DD '95 R wheels for cheap, I had to give them a shot. I really like the original Ford R wheels like the R58 and M179, so I'm pretty happy with them. Cookie cutter at it finest, but they will stop the bleeding for a while. The first pic is a little blury, but you get it.

And I had to try it with a real '95 R center cap. It's a little small. I will have to try the '00 R cap:

Now I have to save for tires. I am going to try to fit a 265/35 up front. I don't want any rubbing, so there will have to be mods I am sure. I won't settle for anything less than a 285/35 in the rear. I want some steam rollers back there. Haha.

i think those wheels are sick, good choice i'd order some of the black centercaps from americanmuscle.com, they're like 7 bucks a piece and cut down on the cheese factor quite a bit

Good looking rims. I run some 285/35s out back and even think a 195 could fit...

Also have you decided what brand tire yet?

I think they will look righteous on your ride with better center caps.

I have not decided on a brand yet. I am looking for CHEAP right now. I see that Tire Rack has Sumitomo's for under $200 a piece. I might go that route. It will probably be a while, though. I am broke right now!!!

I am going to run the R58 center caps until I can chalk up the coin for the '00 R center caps. $50 a piece. I feel like I am getting raped! Haha.

I took the design I made to a vinyl graphics shop and had them made.I then applied them to my crappy center caps after painting them black, then clear coated them with clear wheel paint.I spent a little over $20.00 for the graphics, and $5.00 for the clear coat.Saved a ton of cash. You could do the same with any emblem or idea.

For the record, your car has always looked great with the silver R's. Look forward to seeing the new set-up.

Thanks man. I appreciate it. I have always loved the factory R's or any 5 lug version that kept the spoke design the same as original. When I saw them being offered in a dished version, I figured what the hell. I am not a huge fan of chrome, but I decided to give it a shot. I think they will look pretty good.

I hear ya. Chrome usually isn't my first choice but it can look really good, especially against Red.
