bov or bypass? cant decide please help

Use a bypass, my brother had a BOV on his car with a turbo, and he said he got sick of hearing it, and now he wants my bypass but it won't hold to his psi, lol

To avoid a rich condition you'd have to put the maf in the boost, and the BOV before the meter....Use a bypass. I've never heard of a BOV on a blower, plus theres no need, since the engine keeps the impeller moving at a constant speed, boost cannot slow down the impeller when the TB is closed, so theres no point. A bypass is used to stop noise on deceleration from the boost, im sure there are other reasons though....

Um a bypass and bov are the same thing. The bypass releases the air so when you do let off the loud pedal you do not have all of that air slamming into your blowers impellar. Which in a matter of time will really screw your blower up if you do not have one. You can buy any bov from greddy hks etc but you will have to buy the recirculation kit if you are not going blow thru on the maf.

As stated above, a BOV & bypass are one in the same.

A bypass valve bleeds air that has already been metered. A bypass bleeds air from the discharge tube to the MAF. With a bypass you want to make sure the port where it bleeds back into the air tract is angled AWAY from your MAF. The pipes goes as follows: air filter, MAF, powerpipe, supercharger, discharge tube and throttle body.

A BOV is used in most turbo setups and with ProChargers. Blow off valves bleed air directly into the atmosphere since it has not been metered yet. When you hear a PSSSST sound it's from a BOV. A lot of people find it annoying, but a lot of people love that sound. Piping is as follows: air filter, powerpipe, supercharger, discharge tube, MAF, throttle body.

A lot of people say it's harder to tune a car which uses a BOV setup vs a bypass. I've used a Bosch 110 bypass and a Vortech Mondo bypass with my old SC Trim, pushing 18 psi, and you couldn't hear either one. I figure my supercharger makes enough noise

Maybe thier functions are realativly the same but they are not the same thing.
They both bleed off unwanted boost when the throttle is closed, but they go about it in slightly diffrent manners.

Is this a draw through or a blow through set-up? IE does the meter see boost/compressed air or is it before the compressor. Which way it's set up will have some bearing on which should work best.
