I think you'll need to upgrade the BOV. It's designed to bleed off boost pressure on between the compressor output and the throttle body when the system is boosting and the throttle is suddenly shut, to prevent a boost spike and compressor surge. If you've upgraded the pulley such that you're at 12-psi now, the old BOV may be opening under "normal" boost causing a loss of boost. Upgrading to a BOV designed for the new boost will correct this.

At what PSI does the BOV open now?

Yes, you should upgrade the BOV that works at 12psi...you aren't really "losing" boost, but you aren't optimizing the boost potential that you have with the new pulley.

as long as it will handle upwards of 12psi...if all you want is 12psi then you don't need anything bigger than that...if you want to go bigger later then you should find something that will handle what you eventually want down the line

Vortech mini race will work just fine. I used that bigass mondo when I had a procharger and it was way overkill.

Do the BOV's on a supercharger setup give that "whoosh" sound like on a turbo car, or is there not enough pressure behind it?

If you vent to atmosphere they will. Here's my old mondo vented to atmosphere. So loud it was obnoxious.

You can vent to atmosphere with a maf as long as it is a blow thru setup and you put the bov before the maf. Any setup that has the maf before the supercharger, you have to vent back into the intake tube. procharger uses, or atleast used to use a setup where the maf is after the supercharger and the compressed air was blowing through the maf and you could put a bov before it but after the supercharger cuz the air wasn't metered yet.

Well it's not quite that simple, you will need re-tuned. And blow-thru systems are notorious for bad idle problems. the draw-thru system is really better for everyday driveability. That's not to say that there aren't people out there doing it and not having problems, but it's much harder to tune and keep good idle characteristics.

so does the bov go in place of the bypass that comes with the vortech v2 kit or in addition to? If it goes in place then do you just cap off the old bypass valve? Also, I'm currently running the bypass back into the atmosphere b/c i couldn't squeeze that f'cker in there. Is this a problem?
