Roush Brake/Alcon - Help/Suggestions

A while back I found a guy with a set of NOS Alcon calipers at a decent price, so I got them from him. I then got the front rotor conversion kit (with bump steer kit) from Baer, as well as a set of matching rear rotors and front stainless lines.

Items I am still looking for are:

Rear stainless lines – I can not seem to find a set. Anyone have a set? If so where did you find them?

Cooling Ducts – I want to run brake cooling ducts from the Saleen air dam back to the calipers. The hose is easy enough to find, has anyone came across a nice intake that will mate to the air dam? Again I have not found one, so I am thinking I will probably have to mod a generic one.

Brake Pads – I am trolling for opinions. I don’t drive the car everyday, but will do a track day or two a year. Since I mostly drive it on the street (hard), I want something that will stop at the track, but don’t want a ton of dust either. Suggestions?

Pads, I run the Hawk pads. I have never seen a set of stainless rear lines. You can check on Svtperformance in the Cobra R section. Someone there would know if there is a set out there. For the cooling duct you can check with Kenny Brown but, you will have to do some mods.
 
.....the Hawk pads or the Porterfield R4S pads work very well with the alcon calipers. I agree with Scott, check the Cobra R section for that and custom fab for the air duct cooling will be needed. Good luck and take a few pictures of the ducting system you come up with......
 
On the rear lines ... do you mean Braided lines to the calipers?? If so Brads Custom Auto in Seattle hooked me up with some. I see you are in Sumner so they are kind of local. They were Goodridge and a little bracket has to be made and welded to the axel because they won't fit in the stock bracket.

On Pads I read a test awhile ago in MM&FF on the SBS (Scandanavia Brake System) pads from Scandanavia. The kicked butt on everybody's pads. I have not installed mine yet so I can't say, but in the test their "street" pad outperformed Hawk and other more "race" pads in stopping performance. Baer sells them. I read that they were going to drop their other line's of pads and just sell these because they were so good, but I have no idea if they did that or not. These pads have been avaible for years for motorcycles and now they are making them for cars.

What kind of dust are you guys getting with the R4S? I assume they also make a rear pad to match?

S351Saleen77, how long ago did you talk to Baer about pads? When I got my rotors just a month or so ago, they didn't have any pads for the Alcons other than some that were full race pads. Didn't catch the name of them, but since I don't want the noise, dust, and wear of a set of full race pads, they recommended not to get them for my application.

I'll call Brad's to see what they did. Like I said I have looked everywhere, and all the Goodridge listings I have found show front only. :shrug:
 
I got my pads through Brads Custom Auto also. It took along time to get them, months. I remember asking if they had to mine the Asbestos and send it to Scandaniva to make them.:rlaugh: I figured now they would have them in stock though. I got them a year ago, SBS makes 3 levels of pads and their street pads outdid the others race pads.
 
The Hawks throw less dust than the Porterfields on the street and the track. On the track it's a good debate on who's pads stop better but most guys like the Porters. On the street you can't tell the difference between the two after they have settled.
