I've got a couple questions regarding brakes. I've read through just about every previous post, but want to clear things up. I am trying to deal with the rear first because it is off the car right now. The rear end is a 9", that was installed by the previous owner. I am not sure if it is small or large bearing, or 28/31 spline. I need to check the length also. What do I need to check prior to ordering? I know the bearing is important, but do I need to worry about it pushing the wheels out or pulling them in? I was going to order the cobra disc brake kit from Currie, because it seems to be the overall best deal. The next option was a Baer kit, but it is roughly twice the price. I am not seeking the cheapest kit, but a quality kit that is easy to install.

Concerns regarding the Cobra kit are whether I can get a kit that will match up front? I want to make sure the kits match.

Thanks for any tips. Hate to order something and it be wrong...

what size wheels are you going to use? it does matter. you can use stock style four piston calipers and the rear discs from a late 90/s crown vic. as i recall they are a direct bolt on for the small bearing axles. you can also check out mustangsteve.com he sells the brackets to put the cobra brakes on the early cars.
