They were nice and tight against the axle tubes until the metal part of the bump stop bracket pushed them away from the axle.Yes, bend the brackets - more accurately twist them to change the angle slightly so the fitting and tube coming out will miss the bump stop. Also, the brake lines should be tighter up against the axle tubes.
The rubber part of the bump stop clears (barely), the metal part of the bracket sticks out about 1" closer to the brake line which is what sheared through my brake line. I could see witness marks on the metal.If the dark spot on the axle tube is where the bump stop hits, you shouldn't have needed to modify the brackets. Is the axle moving side to side excessively.
When I did my 5 wheel disc conversion I just used SN95 hoses/brackets.

I mean I was able to drive pretty far without this happening so I don't hit the bump stops often either. Usually I'm pretty particular too about having stuff "correct" but I don't mess around with brakes. If I've gotta modify or remove the bump stop brackets so I don't crash and die then it is what it is.Get some JUNK OUT OF YOUR TRUNK so no more bump stop, and of course bend the bracket. I don't think I ever hit bump stops, that I know of.
A couple of metal ties(used on heat wrap) will keep em where you want.
I'd leave the brackets, but some people ARENT AS ANAL as I am about installing stuff correctly.
