Quick Question -

What are the best brake pads for a stock 2003 cobra? Mine are starting to whine a lot and are getting pretty annoying.

I was looking at these....

1994-2004 Mustang Cobra, Bullitt, and Mach 1Hawk High Performance Street Front Brake Pads at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

My car is not really a daily driver, just a fun car I drive from time to time.

Thanks,

Jayson

Best pad is a rather loose question. Best for what? For me the best pad doesnt stop at all until its VERY hot. They make lots of noise and eat my rotors. Thats best for me. What kind of driving do you want to do and what do you expect your brakes to do?

Basically I don't do any auto-cross racing, I rarely go to the strip, so the pads I need are for daily use.

OEM or Motorcraft will work well. if you want best stopping no compromises look at something like a Carbotech Bobcat.

I went to the parts counter and got stockers in the red box for $49. There are double price "OEM" ones available at the parts counter also IIRC in a white box.

The nice thing about the stock pads is that they come with all new stainless rattle clips with the rubber inserts.

red box are the motorcraft pads which are not factory.

the brown box with a blue and white sticker are the factory pads.

motorcraft list for $101.80
Ford OEM list for $156.63

that $49 you paid for motorcraft is less than dealer cost.

EDIT: those are for cobras, other mustang may differ.
