Brakes Clicking noise while braking?

Here you go. The lower plate does not look so good now that you mention it.

No worries. All good. I appreciate your input. I mean it :nice: No nothing poking through on the axle flange. I almost want to get another set of shoes just because? This thing is weird. Braking is no different though. Just the clicking.

Unfortunately the way I have the car in the garage currently does not allow me to pull the pass side wheel off so that test will need to wait for another time if replacing the shoes does not solve this.

New shoes came today. Two things I noticed. New shoes have some ears to ride on the backing plate. Second, the pads are thinner right out of the box than what I took out. Weird because they are both reybestos. New is on the left. The one I took out is on the right.

I will put it together later this afternoon and hopefully drive it to work tomorrow.

I put it back together. Got the car back on the ground but then it started to snow so I didn’t move cars to go for a test drive. Not sure it it will be gone by tomorrow:cautious:

Thanks I hope so too!! We normally don’t get much snow here in the Portland area. Snow was only originally forecasted for 8-10am. Was not expecting it to start this evening, much less stick. I guess Mother Nature had different plans today.

So the snow thawed out enough today that I could go for a quick rip without worrying about getting stuck. I am happy to report no more annoying clicking.

Now I’m debating if I should change the other side out just for piece of mind.:chin

It hasn't snowed in VA at all. This is very strange because we usually get a couple snows before the end of Feb. Bought new tires for the truck and haven't been eble to test them out yet.

I'm glad you got to the bottom of that clicking issue. I'd do the other side just because the replacement shoe design looks so much better than the previous " new " shoes.

Ok I’ll change it when it warms up a bit.

Yeah usually we don’t get much snow anymore. Typically it is a few light dustings and that is it. We got 8-10” yet when I work 26 miles away they got the light dusting. Supposedly we’re going to get more snow tonight. Temp is going to be mid 30’s so not sure if any will stick.
