Hey all! I just installed a bullitt brake kit on my 99 gt. I am confident I blead the brakes correctly. But now the brake pedal travels probably four inches before it has any pressure and the brakes grab. I was expecting the brakes to grab with very little travel of the pedal. The car stops fine once the brakes do grab, but it feels much different then before the install. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

does the vehicle have ABS? you usually need a NGS, WDS, IDS or a scan tool with ford ABS functionality to modulate the ABS solenoids while bleeding. cheapest ive seen for a scan tool with ABS functionality is about $1500. try bleeding them again by yourself, proper bleed sequence for mustangs is MC(Master), RR, LR, RF, LF, repeat 1x. if the pedal is still low then take it to a dealer or another shop that has the ability to bleed ABS systems.
i thought you only have to let the dealer**** bleed the lines if you got air into the modules.
make sure you bleed the lines at the master cylinder as well. when i did the rear brakes on the GT i kept bleeding and bleeding and nothing, no pedal pressure. for ****s and giggles i did the lines at the MC and viola! we have pedal pressure houston.

If you are sure the master never went dry you don't have to bleed it nor the ABS HCU.
First thing to check is your new brake hoses. I know when I installed my kit the new hoses on both sides would leak a little with brake pressure applied. I had to REALLY tighten them down and I don't mean at the caliper but at the brake line side. After your sure they don't leak try to bleed them again.
Finally if all is bled correctly you must remember the front pads need some time to properly seat to the discs. After a few miles of braking they should start to bite a bit sooner. What I noticed with this kit is that with normal braking they feel just like the old brakes. I was expecting a big diffrence as soon as the brakes were applied but that is not the case. They really shine when you work them hard.

Are the calipers put on right?
I put on a set on of cobra's backwards / upside down once and had the same weak peddle even after bleeding them.
Double check the install, check for leaks, don't use speed bleeders, make it a two person job. If all that fails, then you may have to bleed the MC / ABS stuff.

Bleed...and ck for leaks as Topless stated - I had the same problem on the pass side - took me three times to get it to stop leaking. Dry, Liquid pipe sealant, then good ol plummers tape and it finally is dry. Pedal should definately feel firmer.
My pedal never felt the same after the Bullit swap but the results were there...I was told a Cobra MC would improve the pedal feel. (less mushy)
