Brake Questions! Hardline, Non ABS , and Line Lock ?'s

Well i cant remember the size lines on our cars.... i wanna say 3/16??? or5/16???


Also what are my options... I gotta order soon...

What do you think i should go with im gonna order a 25 ft coil. and leave the rear lines how they are they are in good shape...


Next i already have a non abs Prop valve so if anyone knows what lines go where on a non abs car id like to know.


Finally im looking at a line lock. What kits are decent??

As a side note, brake line is standard 45 degree double flare, is it not? (double flares...I have a great bubble flare tool if needed). the site adam linked suggests this for 3/16 stainless brake line...

37 Degree Flaring Tool, for Stainless Steel Line

I've used all the standard double flare tools and they all (with me using them at least) screw up the standard lines you get at advance/autozone/pep boys...so much so I have other people flare my lines at work. a guy I work with has a pneumatic snap-on unit that works like a charm every single time...but costs $450.

so their site says this 37 degree tool is the best for stainless 3/16 brake line but their other tools say brake line is 45 degree and 37 degree is only for AN fittings.

I just bought the $25 double flare tool at the parts store, and it worked fine.

The stock line is 3/16". I think the stainless would be the best option. If you polished it up, it would look great.

Yo dude couldnt we just map out the lines and cut them and have your guy flare them at work?

Should i order from speedway??? its $7.50 shipping... so its a little over $32 for 20ft. Cheaper then summit or jegs.

I've been through 3 of them. I don't know if it's my technique, the tool I'm using, or if I just plain suck. Regardless, whatever I am doing I blow chunks at flaring brake lines.

The guy who did my brake lines at work yesterday used a really nice version of the el cheapo $25 parts store ones and worked fine for him.

Adam: usually you can't get the custom bent lines out of the car in one piece once you bend them how you need them.
