I'm putting together a brake upgrade package as a b-day present for my lil bro and want input on what I'm scheming. His car is a 91 notch. I've searched stangnet for info as well as google and I have put together the following:

Calipers - Fronts from a 91 Mark VII
Master Cylinder - From a 94 stang ( is it > than the MC from a 93 cobra?)
SS brake lines - From Russell Performance (street legal; what's the difference?)
Bleeders - From Russell Performance
MC conversion kit - From MM
SS caliper sleeves - From MM

Without tax my cost is about $350. The car is a daily driven street car. Track time for this car is very unlikely. The car is driven relatively hard and needs brakes to accommodate. I don't want to spend more than the aforementioned total. Let me know what you think of my choices. Thanks in advance.

i run the MM stainless caliper sleeves...they are awesome. I dont get ANY caliper shimmy when getting on the brakes from high speed. They are the best 25 bucks you can spend.

eh, the conversion would be nice, but we don't feel it's worth the investment right now. Other things are needed on the car to maintain daily drivability. Do you think the switch from a 60mm caliper piston to 73mm won't make a difference?

I got the full monte MM stock brake upgrade (Hawk pads/shoes, steel caliper sleeves, braided stainless lines, etc) and can really tell a difference in the way the car feels during braking. The pedal feels alot more competent. It is a nice fairly cheap upgrade, if you aren't into going all out to rear disc. This will hold me off from the rear disc swap for a while though.
The front caliper upgrade is nice as well and fairly cheap to do. Make sure you get the steel piston calipers.

I had done it, IMO it was a waste of time and money.
I'm with 5L5, if you are going to do brakes, either go 94/95 spindle, or don't bother.

I did it....would I do it again? No.

I don't think the difference will justify the labor and cost of the swap. They brakes will still fade in heavy braking.
