Brake upgrade question?

Hi all, long time no talk!!!

Well with the tax check I am hoping to upgrade the braking system on the stang so my questions are,

What brand calipers/rotors do you all prefer?

What brand pads do you all prefer?

Where can I find the best prices on them?

Can I install them myself? I can turn a wrench and change my own oil and brake pads.

i got my cobra upgrade from http://www.johnbleakleyford.com

it was the best price i could find. if you can change your own pads, you can complete the entire install without much issue.

I'll be getting the '00 Cobra-R front brake kit from www.buyfordracing.com, they seem to be the cheapest around, and have the best prices on the Cobra/Mach1 brake kits. I haven't done a brake job on a mustang yet but it looks to be very straight-forward. Bleeding them is probably the most annoying part because of the ABS unit.

+1 on the brembo's---i swapped from cobras to these and i am very happy.

bleeding the brakes on our cars are no different than bleeding the brakes on a 74 monte carlo---don't worry about the abs

+2 on buyfordracing.com got my mach1 kit from there for around 340 shipped. its the same kit as the cobra except the calipers are plain. worth every penny IMO!
