brake ?

Im kinda in the same situation, I talked with Waterpog about this a few times, and we came to the conclusion that the 15X8 would fit as long as it has a 5-6.5 BS. Im still not 100% sure about this, since the last 15" wheels I had rub the crap out of my Rotors, and I'm pretty positive they were 5" BS and I also used a 1/2" spacer. I ended up giving them away to a friend for free. and they fit fine with his normal GT brakes:shrug: What we also discussed and something that we know works, is that the 15X7.5 wheels off of the 94-95 V6 Mustangs fit and work with no issues. So this looks like the route that I will be going.

I measured the BS on my stock wheels and on my Cobra R's and they came to a 6.5 BS.

Good luck,

Will

thanks, this is kinda the deal that I am in :nonono: I bought a rear end from foster auto wreaking :notnice: in portland drove all the way up there paid the money and they ended up not having the rear since it got tore down and not taken out of the computer  and then they say that they had one in salem and I could pick it up the next day at the salem foster's auto wreakers so I drove over there and when I go to pick it up they had stripped the calipers and brake lines off I told them that I paid for a complete rear end and they said that they always strip the calipers off for cores:bang: well napa wants $86.oo each :jaw: for cores and ford wants $80.oo :jaw: so I have been tring to get ahold of the guy that I dealt with at foster's talked to him once and not heard anything back yet:mad: :bang:  all that I am asking for is the money back for the core charges nothing else I will spend the money for the brake lines I am tempted to return the damn thing and get one from bob's ford over by krazy koncepts.

Sorry to hear about that Phil. I had a similar experience at Foster's about five years ago. I hit a pothole in Tualatin that ruined the front right hub spindle on my mustang. The best place to get one was Fosters, so I went out there. Once I got out there, all but one right side hub were gone, off of the twenty or so stangs they had. I bought the one hub that was not part of a "complete assembly" and took it home. It turned out that this hub was damaged in the same manner that my other one had been. So I took it back and stole one off of a "complete assembly" after they were reluctant to exchange my old one. During the whole ordeal, I was attacked by wasps twice, and got to see the lot attendant fight off about five wasps with a torque wrench and a can of bee spray. Good times.
As for Bob's ford parts, I have mostly heard bad things about them. The few times I have been out there, they have quoted a good price in order to get people to drive out there. Once you are there, they jack the prices up, hoping you will just buy the stuff. Bob's staff consisted mainly of hillbillies and drunks who had been in and out of the Multinomah County Jail. Good luck!

it just depends on the wheel, some will some won't. The first set of steel wheels that I had (the ones will ended up with) needed a 1/4" spacer and some minor grinding on the caliper. The set I was running last year and the year before fit fine w/o any spacer and would have fit w/o the grinding. Both were 10" wheels with 6.5" backspace if I remember correctly. The first ones may have been smaller though, it's been a long time.

I've got a set of draglights in the garage right now that I still need to test fit, but they have a very small drop center and should clear w/o issue.

Edit: I just went out and test fit the draglights and they clear fine w/o spacers. My calipers are allready clearanced though so I can't say for sure if they would fit normally but my guess is that they would.

thanks pog I did order my gt calipers but it is not to late to stop the order I would much rather have cobra brakes for the stopping issue once I get the new motor in thanks I think i will get the cobra brakes. I had issues before with steel wheels on my areospace brakes but the welds cleared fine

In the rear the cobra caliper is the same as the GT (if we're talking '94+ stuff, not sure about the '93) the difference is in the rotor and the caliper bracket.

the rear is actually out of a 98 GT. that is nice to know  so all I need is the caliper bracket and the rotor very nice thanks :nice: one more question why does ford list in the rotor bracket kit to use the special edition calipers or cobra and not say that you can use the gt calipers to upgrade to the larger rotors as well just curious

BEWARE BOBS......

"I need a set of stock valvecovers for a 5-oh mustang"

"Yeah we've got those.... 30 bucks."

"cool, I'll be there in about an hour"

"ok." -click-

(time passes)

(door opens)

"Hey, I called about a set of valvecovers for a latemodel 5-oh"

"Yeah, here ya go" (holds up a rusty old set of stamped steel "powered by ford" valvecovers: circa about 1970)

"Um, .... no I need the ones off a 5.0, their alluminum, with a breather on the passenger side cover... ya know?"

"Ohhhh, yeah we have the alloy ones, but their $100 a pair."

(hysterical laughter, and some cussing mixed in)

(door closes)
