Just went for a cruise with my son and while making a turn I heard something metal skimming across the street. Hit the brakes and the pedal is rock hard. Turn around find the peice of metal and head home. I'll take a picture of it in a minute. This is weird. ABS light has been on since December. I bled the brakes twice since December. Guess I'll have to get under it. Hard pedal is usually a booster. I need a vacation.

Car runs great. Idles solid at 850. Pulls pretty hard after 4000 rpm. I just ditched the Strange struts in favor of the Tockico 5 way adjustables. Really cleaned up the ride. Also put in rack limiters, 1/2 inch spring spacers (car was toooooo low) and Steeda did the alignment. It drives and handles incredible. So I'm stoked about taking my son for a drive and 30 seconds later no brakes. I think I need a new brake booster. My Company makes them so its not an issue but fustrating at the same time.

I'm not sure what it is. It looks to be a metal bracket I used 8 years ago to secure my Bassani off road X pipe to the tranny crossmember. I'll need to get under the car to check that though.

The booster is making lots of noise when I press the brake pedal. The pedal is so hard It won't even go in an inch. This happen to anyone before?

Joe, does it still brake normally (albeit it with significant effort)?

For safety's sake, I would check brake lines to make sure the metal didnt hit any of them ( this is totally unrelated to your symptoms but just seemed wise).

I would put a vac pump on the booster fitting and see if it holds vac.

Good luck.

It doesn not brake normally. I almost drove the car though the garage and into my kitchen (used the E brake to stop it).

Don't have a vacuum guage. I bled the brakes twice today. Now its to the point where the pedal is concrete wall. No matter how hard I push its not moving.

So no braking from the brakes themselves and the pedal doesnt move, from the sound of it.

Sounds kinda like a bad MC, but you know Joe, with all that ABS crap we have, I dont know how that effects things (I have not troubleshot these kinds of issues with ABS - matter of fact I have gotten away with no ABS or airbags on any car till I got the '94. I hate that crap).

Just thinking aloud here. Bump.

Man, that is one great thing about having a boost/vacuum gauge. You know instantly when a line has come off or breaks. I once noticed my engine only had about 8 inches of vacuum instead of the normal 18 one day while driving. I drove it gently home and look around the engine bay. Sure enough, the line running to the boost sensor port on the BTM had broke. That could have been a huge problem had I gone to WOT.

Glad your problem was a simple one!
