Brakes are gone....

I think you should check a hose...Since you moved stuff around, it may have hit the header and melted...let us know.

Actually I'm Jr. he's the III. My fear after I had no brakes was that he was in the car. I was only doing 20MPH when I noticed the pedal wasn't working.

I bled the brakes again (third time) and all is well. Car brakes really well. ABS light is still on but its been on from the beginning. So I now have the Air Bag and ABS light on. Anyone want to ride with me now?

Just went for a 20 minute cruise with my neice and son. The ride quality has really improved. The front sticks around corners very well. I need to get the stock rear shocks out of there and replace them with the Tockico 5 ways.

Let this be lesson for some of you. Always check the easy stuff first. This fix cost me nothing. Start with the inexpensive stuff first then work your way up.

Yea, the metal was from a homemade bracket I fabbed when my Bassani off road x didn't fit right (this was many years ago). Seems the vibration may have backed it out.

Ooh, yeah Joe. I actually once read your site (or something that referenced that you were already the second gen Joe. Sorry).

I lost the MC in my first car (vert) with my Dad and sis in the car (I had my permit only) and was going down a long hill into a valley. I missed a yield to the right turn and kinda blew a light at the bottom. I was pushing/pumping the brakes so hard that I bent the steering wheel and partially sheared the teeth on the seat track. I know how you felt Joe (you had less speed than I did, but you were contemplating parking your car on carpet that it was not designed to park upon).

Shaun's right-on about the vac gauge (I run them in the carb'd and SD stuff). Joe, I might have figured you had one already.

No one was hurt and it was a cheapo fix. Cool.

Losing brakes at any speed surely isn't fun. Doing it with people in the car is worse. Like I said before getting it into the garage was an experience in itself.

Cheapo fix is right. Cut out the burnt section and added a 3/8 hose adapter. Brakes are better then before. If I can only figure out why the ABS light won't go off.

Where do yo have the msd mounted it may be too close the abs port and cause the light it does in my car all the time

I've tried it won't come clean. I should have painted it black when it was off the car. Might just get the Steeda polished insert to put over it.

Even with the chrome sleeve, you still see the base of it.

I have and airbrush now that I use for the Pinewood derby Cars...If you wanna bring the car by, we can put some black paint in it and shoot it... You wouldnt even need to cover anything, since the paint is so fine.

My airbag light was flashing a code 52 (you know how to read the flashes right?), Intermittent or Repaired Lost Battery Feed, so i cleared the memory with little grey two pin connector under the glovebox (turn the ignition on and wait for the light to flash the code and then short out the two pins, before the light stays on, in the connector and wait till you hear a beepin noise and then remove the jumper wire) I think they just about every code on that page and they tell what you should should to do to clear the memory or fix the problem. It's a good write up so would just read through it to diagnose your problem.

Mine is a code 12 which is low battery feed. I've had this link for awhile. I printed out the Code 12 schematic back in December and tried tracing all the wires. Should I do what you did since its pretty much the same thing?

Joe ..... as I told you in the old thread ..... you have a problem. You can't just clear the code and it be gone (unless it's a 52+ code).

Check wiring on pin 13 & pin 14 of the ADM. Once it's fixed, either the code will go away .... or you'll get a 52 or higher code (which can be cleared).

Both checked out fine. I would think the little module behind the radio may be at fault. I hate schematics and wire tracing.

That's exactly what I was referring to. The ADM (airbag diagnostics monitor). It's a blue box under / behind the radio. I was talkng about checking pins 13 & 14 there.
