Brakes creaking...

for the longest time I thought it was my front suspension creaking, but I realized yesterday that its my front brakes that creak when i press the pedal. I can be sitting still and push the brake pedal and they still creak anyone know how to fix this

I think it is the steering rack bushings...

Ack! Does it creak really bad when turning either way? If so, it could be ball joints.

no, it ONLY creaks when the brake pedal is pushed i thought it was the suspension, but i figured out it was only creaking when the brakes are applied.

My first guess would be that the slide pins probably need lubricating - if not the backing plates on the pads are worn making noise transfer through the calipers and into the mounting bracket. Also, if it's more of a "dull" creak, you might want to bleed the brakes, it could be excess air/moisture (water) in the system.

EDIT: Oh yeah, almost forgot. Loosen all 5 lugs on each front wheel and re-torque in the star pattern if all else fails.

Did you ever figure out what this was? Mine is doing it too. Its the pedal and not the breaks and yeah it creaks when I press it in even when standing still. Its driving me crazy! Someone please help.
