I have 2007 V6 with antilocks.

My front is shacking a little when braking at high speeds. It seems to be the right side. Im thinking on changing the rotors but do not know if going with GT rotors or aftermarket.

First, I will like to know if the V6 with antilocks has GT rotors on it? Antilocks are an option on the V6 and when I checked the brakes and the caliper has double pistons on it. I was a little surprise but happy!

If this is the case I will just get GT rotors from newtakeoff.com

If this is not the case what will be better?

get GT rotors and calipers

get the V6 GT kit. (rotors and Caliper adapter)

get aftermarket rotors and pads

thanks All, Alex

You may have a partially frozen caliper. I've had to replace the RF caliper on my daughters '00 Taurus and the RF on my wifes '08 Escape. Machined the rotor & replaced the caliper... problem gone. Weird that it always seems to be the RF I hear of.

I will try push it out a couple of times, if it does not work then I get the GT brakes from newtakeoff.

thanks

the GT take off rotors are a good option, but you have to have 17" wheels. The calipers for both the GT and the V6 are the same, so you can re-use your V6 calipers but you'll need the GT caliper mounting brackets. If you do indeed have a stuck piston in your caliper you might as well buy the entire kit from someone like newtakeoff or other companies and swap them in. Otherwise find a set of GT rotors, they're cheap and plentiful. The hard part is hunting down the caliper mounts. Some Ford dealers still have them, some don't. Or look in a wrecking yard. I found some for our V6 from a person who had gone to a big brake kit on their GT. Paid $40 for the mounts and the rotors.
