brakes

how many peices are on one side of rear drum brakes?

back in '88 i was a mechanic for k-mart automotive. it seems obvious, but one thing i learned from experience. do one side at a time. you can then reference the other side for reassembly.

brake lines are somewhat delicate. don't let heavy calipers hang from them.

first thing i do on front brakes, after taking cap off (and wheels of course), is fully compress the caliper piston using a c-clamp. Then start dissasembly.

If this is a test, I ain't got a clue how many parts are there and it seems I still get them confused, especially the dang springs.

Your procedures are the correct way to take them apart or put them together and yes do one side at a time in case you need to use the other side for reference.

That depends on who did the brakes last: I've seen them with missing cup washers, self adusotr cables,etc...not to mention shoes on the wrong side! :rlaugh:
