Brakes

I swapped on Cobra brakes and wow, what a difference compared to the stockers. I got them for $399 from www.mustangparts.com and I added stainless steel lines for $70 or so. I really cant think of a better package for $399. I know Baer sells the same package for over $700, but has their name on it(not bashing them, they make some awesome products).

Define, "decent price." More than likely, the Cobra or Bullitt brake upgrade is the way to go for you. Unless, you want serious brakes and then we can get into the decently priced $1800-$2000 kits (or even $5500-$6000). ;)

At the moment I just want the feeling like my car can stop at highway speeds. I want a sure feeling. the stocker feel overworked at anything over 60 mph. God forbid if you want to go road racing.

Yeah, I don't need something That costs as much as a turbo kit. My car does not go that fast. Just need something that makes if feel like a sports car not a taurus.

Thanks,
Tom

Pick up a Cobra 13" kit from MPS.

The only dissavantage i see to switching to 13" rotors is that your spare won't work on them. you would have to get a 17" cobra spare.

If you must, you can transfer the back wheel to the front and put the spare on the back, in an emergency situation.

Also, you can fit a 15" wheel on the front with a 1" spacer.

If you have the $$ now, the agree....get some Cobra Brakes.

If your brakes really suck and you dont have the $$ now, then you could get some used PBR's .

I got a set with 5k miles last year...rotors, pads, calibers, etc. For $100. I threw some SS lines for a few extra $$, and I was good to go, with a small, but noticeable difference in feel.
