Has anyone seen or used some of these kits that use the stock calipers with 14in. rotors? They come with a relocation bracket for the caliper so it will fit over the bigger rotor. I realize these won't be as good as a full on big brake kit but was wondering if there would be a performance gain with one of these setups.

It will be noticeable, think of it as a lever arm the bigger rotor with the caliper relocated will be applying more stopping power like adding length to a wrench to apply more torque to remove a bolt.

How much is the kit? It might be worth getting a set of take-off GT500 brakes off Ebay, there are some good deals if you are patient. Just better pads and stainless lines would probably more of a difference than a rotor swap.

Tommy that's kinda what I was thinking just looking for someone else to verify.

ct07gt I don't remember how much it was for sure. I was doing some late night web surfing and came across it. I think the kit was made by Baer though.

Increasing rotor size and not also increasing caliper/pad size will not increase breaking performance. The pad will have the exact same size contact patch as the stock rotor...

I would think that moving the contact patch farther away from the hub would help a little.
