Well, I just passed 10k on my first supercharger belt. Now I want to replace it before I snap it while I'm driving.

I know I need a 108" belt, but any advice on which brand to get and best place to pick one up?

I've got a Dayco Polycog belt on mine.....it seems to be performing just fine with my 8-rib 2.35" blower pulley and it’s really quiet……not to mention less expensive than a lot of the others. Had the parts place I deal with carried them, I would have preferred a Gates belt as my first choice. They’re a little noisier, but their solid multi-groove design provides better contact with the pullies than the broken design of a standard style belt, so it reduces belt slippage better than others. But if you’re not having a problem with slipping as it is, you probably won’t need to bother with the Gates.

.....I don't know if you'll have to worry about snapping your other belt. With only 10,000k on it, it still should be in really good shape. If you're worried about belt stretch, keep in mind that your factory tensioner should take up a lot of slack. More than the amount of belt strech you've accumulated for sure.

Both the Gates and Dayco belts are great for blowers. The Gates is probably the better of the two. The Dayco's are a little quieter like Gearbanger mentioned, due to their design. You can usually get either belt for about the same price.

It's the best of the bunch. Any more grip needed than that and you'll need either a saw cut blower pulley (which works well, but cuts belt life in half), or will need to go from a 6-rib to an 8-rib pulley conversion. Drop me a line if you're still getting belt slip issues and want to convert to the 8-rib pulleys. I scrounged up all the part numbers needed for a 5.4L Ford truck when I did mine and it worked out to less than 1/2 the price of the KB or GI Joe kit.

Thanks gearbanger! I don't have any slippage problems now (or at least I don't THINK I do...only seen boost for the first time in 3 months yesterday!).

On that note, after seeing WOT, full boost yesterday for the first time in 3 months, my car smelt horrible. Was wierd. Smelled almost like the first day i installed the blower. Wonder if this is normal as all the piping wasn't used to the heat or something?

I don't bother changing a belt until I see visible signs of wear, rot, or it just squeeks so bad that no amount of cleaning or soap will keep it quiet. As Laser stated and new belt will stretch about 3-4/10 of an inch, but afterwards, it should last you as long as it would stock. Not sure where the 10,000-mile rule came into play. Maybe the person who started that one had some belt alignment issues and that's all he was able to get out of his. You should get 60,000km (about 35,000-miles) out of a serpentine belt, easily.

If you're that worried about it, you could always throw your old one in the spare tire well as a spare.

the shop that i work has a big problems with slipping belts on our equipment and the most aggressive belt the we could find is the goodyear gatorbacks. you cant go wrong pick them up at oriellys
