breaking cats in

i just got LT's on with 2 new high flow cats on a 91 gt and it dont sound that loud i was wondering if the cats had to break in i put around a 1000 miles on the car already since LT's and cats

i dont think there is any breaking period i know my friends cougar got louder after it being drove for a while
