broke something that plugs in trans

Well i looked down under my car cuz i can see the loose wire , The 02 sensor wires and theres a plug thats is destroyed and i think i remember putting it in my transmission ( t-5 ), does anyone know what this is and what it does? its more towards the driver side of the car

There are 4 possiblites.

1.) O2 sensor - there are 2 of them, a RH one & a LH one. You'll get a code 41 or 91
2. VSS sensor you'll get a code 27 or 29.
3.) Netural Safety Switch.
4.) Backup light switch.

Dump the codes and see what the computer says is wrong…

Here's the link to dump the computer codes with only a jumper wire or paper clip and the check engine light, or test light or voltmeter. I’ve used it for years, and it works great.

IF your car is an 88 or earlier stang, you'll have to use the test lamp or voltmeter method. There is no functional check engine light on the 88's except possibly the Cali Mass Air cars.

Codes have different answers if the engine is running from the answers that it has when the engine isn't running. It helps a lot to know if you had the engine running when you ran the test.
Go figure... :spot:

n/m it goes to the oil pan at the back of it........

is that the oil presure sender unit?

driver side oil pan is the low oil level sensor, the oil pressure sensor is feed into the block itself to the left of the oil filter, behind the timing cover
