i've got three kids and a house... I don't have the luxory of just buying new ****...

if it was otherwise ok, and didn't grind or howl, just pull out the mainshaft, cluster shaft and replace the broken reverse idler and slap it all back together. Not sure why you'd want to do an entire rebuild on a t5 with just a broken reverse

Cost you less than $50 and you can spend the other money on beer and mods

astroperformance.com is the best place to locate a reverse idler...or hanlonmotorsports.com

A new t5 and a freshly rebuilt t5 are pretty much the same, no reason for a brand new one.

As far as what parts to rebuild, IMO, while it's apart do a small parts rebuild.
Might as well, you are going to have it out of the car, and that's half the battle.
Also, if you don't know what your doing, pay to have it rebuilt, not everyone is capable of it. If you remove the trans yourself, rebuild labor pricing won't be that bad.
